Three-year-old boy critical after falling from Musgrave Road bridge onto N3 in Durban
Emergency services have rushed a young child to hospital following a fall onto a Durban highway.
A parent’s worst nightmare became reality on Thursday morning, (September, 3) when a three-year-old boy fell from the Musgrave Road bridge onto the N3 highway, reports Rising Sun Newspapers.
The child landed on the Durban-bound carriageway below the bridge and sustained critical injuries in the fall.
ALS Paramedics spokesperson, Garrith Jamieson, said emergency crews were at the scene treating the young boy.
“ALS Paramedics are currently on the scene where a young child has fallen off a bridge, on the N3 Durban-bound, underneath the Musgrave Road bridge,” said Jamieson.
The child has sustained critical injuries and is currently being attended to by Advanced Life Support paramedics before he will be rapidly transported to a nearby hospital for the urgent care that he requires.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear.
