Woman allegedly kidnapped by four men in Great Brak River

The family of a woman who was reportedly snatched at a Garden Route shopping centre is appealing for help from the public.

The Great Brak River Police are investigating a case of kidnapping after four men reportedly forcibly bundled a woman into a white GAC M8 Master at the De Dekke shopping complex yesterday afternoon, (29 October), reports Mossel Bay Advertiser.

The family of the victim, Denise Ellie Lewis-Swart, has urgently called on the public to be on the lookout for the vehicle used in the alleged kidnapping, and for Swart herself.

Denise’s husband, Ulrich, said she had gone to the centre at about midday to buy some groceries and takeaway coffee. He said the CCTV footage around the centre shows the four men had been hanging around the area the day before, 28 October, and on the day itself, for a few hours before Denise was taken.

Denise was wearing white pants, a white shirt, a white and cream jacket and green Adidas shoes at the time of her alleged kidnapping. She wears glasses with a transparent frame and has a small oval nose piercing.

A Southern Cape Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Chris Spies, said the Great Brak detectives are investigating the appearance and that a kidnapping docket had been opened. Anyone with information about this incident should contact the investigating officer, Detective Warrant Officer Paul Scheepers, on 044 620 8326 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
