Mozambique, KwaZulu-Natal linking bridge offically opened
The largest suspension bridge in Africa was officially opened on Sunday and is a major plus for Mozambique’s tourism industry.
Mozambique’s President Filipe Nyusi on Sunday officially opened the new road that connects Maputo and KwaZulu-Natal (KZN), Letaba Herald reports.
Travelling time betwee Maputo in Mozambique to Kosi Bay, South Africa’s east coast border post, will now be drastically reduced, from six hours to just 90 minutes. A major plus for the Mozambican tourism industry!
The new road, stretching 120 km over the largest suspension bridge in Africa, which spans 680m and stands 60m above sea level across the Bay of Maputo, linking the capital to Catembe and to adjoining roads to the southern border town of Ponto de Ouro.
