Old Skool DJs to jam on one stage

Husbands and wives, hire a nanny for one night and put on your dancing shoes.

DJ Industry presents 1 Night of Old Skool House with South African legends DJ Mr Bobbyjazz, DJ Costa and DJ Small Paul, in Boksburg.

This smashing event will take place at The Zone, corner Cason and Turf roads (opposite Jamaica Wholesalers), on Friday, September 2, from 6pm.

1 Night of Old Skool House was founded by house DJ Mr Bobbyjazz.

The event is for old-school house club goers to relive their younger days.

The Old Skool DJs will be sharing one stage and performing together, playing all old-school favourite house tracks.

DJ Costa

DJ Costa started out in the DJ world in 1981 while still at school, having studied the piano at the London Academy for Music.

He decided that being a DJ is what he wanted to be after going out to a couple of clubs called Bella Napoli, Q’s and The Dome.

Bella Napoli was the first club he played in as a stand-in DJ, after which one of his first regular club gigs was at Club Donna in Alberton which then moved him to Club Fusion in V-Town, then on to the Thunderdome in Johannesburg and landed him at which he now know to be the best club in South Africa and the first big turning point in his life and DJ career, Bella Napoli.

1997 marked the second and most significant point in his DJ career – the opening of Bump Nightclub and the beginning of what has now become his labour of love, the release of Bump through RPM Dance.

November 1997 saw the release of the first Bump album, which went on to sell over 40 000 CDs.

This was yet another beginning to a new chapter, a beginning to what is now the biggest and most successful dance compilation in South Africa.
