DIY facemasks
Consider these DIY facemasks to get glowing, healthy skin.
Moisture:
Carrots, honey and avocado
Carrots prevent skin dryness and also have anti-inflammatory properties while avocados are very moisturizing due to their high amounts of Vitamin A and E. Honey contains antibacterial properties which helps to fight acne and prevent breakouts. Simply use equal parts mashed avocado and boiled and mashed carrots with 1/2 parts honey. Mix well, apply to clean skin and leave on for 10 minutes, wash off with warm water. Voila!
Honey and olive oil
Another easy way to moisturise your skin is by mixing honey with olive oil. Honey, as mentioned, helps fight breakouts, and olive oil moisturises your skin.
Exfoliate:
Brown sugar and honey
This super simple way to exfoliate will leave your skin feeling smooth and clear. Mix enough honey to cover your face with two tablespoons of brown sugar. Spread the mixture over your face in circular motions, not pressing too hard. Leave it on for 10 minutes and rinse with lukewarm water. You’ll never buy an exfoliator again!
Brown sugar, olive oil and peaches
Peaches contain alpha hydroxy acid which works as a mild exfoliant, breaking down dead skin cells. To make this face mask, crush 1/2 a ripe peach. Combine with 1/2 tablespoon olive oil and 1 tablespoon brown sugar. After cleansing your skin, apply this exfoliator and rinse with lukewarm water.
Clear:
Egg white, honey, lemon juice
Lemon juice has a powerful astringent that fights bacteria that causes acne. Whisk together one egg white and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice. Add half a teaspoon of honey and stir well. Wash your face with warm water to open your pours and then apply the mixture. Relax for about 10 minutes and then rinse off.
