Toyota crowned Brand of the Year at Cars.co.za

Toyota's dominance in South Africa highlights its commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, a key consideration for car buyers.

Toyota has reaffirmed its position as South Africa’s leading automotive brand, securing the coveted Brand of the Year title at the 2024/25 Cars.co.za Consumer Awards for a record-breaking fifth time. This achievement underscores Toyota’s unwavering dedication to quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction – qualities highly valued by drivers.

Adding to this triumph, Toyota excelled in three key product categories:

· Toyota Corolla Cross 1.8 Hybrid XR: Winner of the Compact Family Car category.

· Toyota Urban Cruiser 1.5 XR Auto: Winner of the Budget Crossover category.

· Toyota Hilux 2.4 GD-6 Raider 4×4 Auto: Winner of the Leisure Double-cab category.

This marks the second time the Hilux and Corolla Cross have secured top honours, reinforcing their status as consumer favourites.

Unlike product category awards, which blend expert and consumer feedback, the Brand of the Year award relies solely on market data and consumer sentiment. Sales figures, after-sales service, and overall brand perception are crucial factors.

Toyota’s consistent performance at the Cars.co.za Consumer Awards has cemented its position as the most decorated brand in the programme’s history, with previous wins in 2015/16, 2018/19, 2020/21, and 2023/24.

Glenn Crompton, vice president of marketing at Toyota South Africa Motors (TSAM), expressed gratitude: “We are incredibly honoured to once again be recognised as South Africa’s leading automotive brand. This award is a testament to the trust and loyalty of our customers, as well as the dedication of our employees and dealer network. Thank you for making Toyota the brand of choice in South Africa.”
