Dehydrated fruit slices are the perfect cocktail garnish

Drying your own fruit slices is an easy way to make the most of citrus that’s starting to soften, turning it into a fun garnish.

If you’ve ever admired the perfectly dried orange slice floating on top of a cocktail and wondered how to make it yourself, this simple air fryer method is a game-changer. The slow-drying process locks in the fruit’s colour and scent, leaving you with crisp slices that last for months when stored in an airtight jar. They’re perfect for adding a fun touch to cocktails, mocktails, iced teas, or even baked goods. Recipe compliments of Instant Pot.

Ingredients

  • Orange slices

Method

  1. Slice oranges into 1cm slices.

  5. Once the time is up, rotate the top layer with the bottom layer, and turn on for another 9 hours.
  6. Once finished, store in an airtight container ready to garnish cocktails and mulled wine.
