Chocolate, banana and peanut butter breakfast smoothie

This delicious, healthy smoothie needs just five simple ingredients and blends together in minutes, making it perfect for busy mornings.

If a chocolate milkshake and a protein shake had a baby, this would be it – and the best part is it’s actually good for you! This thick, creamy smoothie tastes completely indulgent, like dessert in a glass, but it’s built on a lineup of genuinely nourishing ingredients that make it a totally legitimate breakfast. Bananas provide natural sweetness along with potassium, which supports muscle function and helps maintain healthy blood pressure. Peanut butter adds plant-based protein and healthy fats, making the smoothie more filling and helping to keep energy levels steady. Cocoa contains antioxidants that support overall health, while yoghurt contributes calcium and probiotics for gut health. Recipe compliments of LANCEWOOD.

Ingredients

  • 375 ml plain yoghurt
  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 100 ml smooth peanut butter
  • 45 ml cocoa powder
  • 500 ml full cream milk

Method

  1. Add all ingredients to a blender.
  2. Blend until completely smooth.
  3. Adjust consistency with extra milk if needed.
  4. Pour into glasses and serve immediately.

Tip: Use very ripe bananas for natural sweetness. Blend long enough to fully break down the peanut butter so the texture is silky rather than grainy. If you want it thicker, reduce the milk slightly.
