Local vies for Miss Graduate South Africa crown

The 21-year-old said she is excited about participating in the pageant.

Sunward Park’s Abigale du Plessis was recently announced a Miss Graduate South Africa finalist.

The 21-year-old said she is excited about participating in the pageant.

“I entered Miss Graduate South Africa because I feel it is a great platform for women empowerment that is not only about beauty but about brains as well. I believe society has so many expectations about women’s looks these days, but what about education? I want to be an inspiration to all women. I feel we are capable of so much more than being beautiful. We own our power when we educate ourselves about the world and use that knowledge to make a change and an impact on not only the world but for generations to come,” said du Plessis, who is studying towards a creative writing degree at Unisa.
