2 injured in KZN John Ross highway crash

The Jaws of Life had to be used to free a boy and a woman from a vehicle in Richards Bay this morning.

Two people were seriously injured in an accident on KZN’s John Ross highway this morning.

The accident occurred between the canal robots and East Central Arterial in Richards Bay.

The passengers, a young boy believed to be 12 years old and a woman, were trapped in a vehicle that veered off the road. The driver escaped without injuries.

The City of uMhlathuze’s fire and rescue department were quickly on the scene and freed the patients using the Jaws of Life.

Paramedics were also on the scene to treat the injured patients.
