3 people shot during Mpumalanga tavern robbery

A group of men entered a tavern in the early hours of the morning and opened fire on patrons.

Three people were wounded when they were shot during a business robbery at a tavern in Zwelisha in Pienaar, Mpumalanga, yesterday morning.

According to an article published by Mpumalanga News, provincial police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Jabu Ndubane says an unknown group of men entered the tavern at about 01:00, attempting to rob it.

“During the robbery, the men began shooting randomly and three victims sustained gunshot wounds.

“The three victims were taken to a hospital for medical treatment. It is not yet clear whether the men managed to steal anything during the robbery, however, the investigation is ongoing,” she says.

Ndubane says no one has been arrested yet.

The police urge anyone with information that may assist in arresting the gunmen to call Crime Stop on 08600 1011 or send information via the My SAPS app.
