Three men were shot dead in Nelson Mandela Boulevard in Zone 8 in Thembalethu, George, in the Western Cape last night.

The shooting occurred at about 19:50.

Police found the bodies of the men, aged 32, 38 and 41, with various gunshot wounds. They were declared dead on the scene.

“Crime scene experts combed the scene for clues in a bid to uncover what had transpired,” says Southern Cape police spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies.

Spies did not confirm whether the incident was related to extortion activities in the area.

“The motive for the killings is yet to be established and the [shooters] are yet to be arrested,” he said.
