Hibberdene police are probing a murder case after a shooting in Mtwalume, on KZN’s South Coast, claimed the lives of three people who were killed execution style today.

The shooting occurred at 11:00.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Jay Naicker says it’s believed that a driver and his two passengers had just left the local court and were about to enter the main road when they were confronted by the shooters who were travelling in two vehicles.

“The suspects opened fire on the vehicle, killing all three occupants instantly, before fleeing the scene. It is believed that the deceased were also robbed of their firearms.

“The motive for the attack remains unclear at this time, and detectives at Hibberdene are probing the triple murder,” says Naicker.
