5 men hacked to death in KZN: 12 arrested

Suspects arrested in connection with the murder of five men are due to appear in court on Monday.

Twelve suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of five men in the Bhambayi area in Inanda, KZN, yesterday.

According to an article published by The Witness, the victims, aged between 19 and 26, were kidnapped from their homes at around midnight and their bodies were found just after 06:30 yesterday, with multiple injuries.

One victim’s arm was chopped off, says police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda.

It is believed that the men were hacked to death with a bush knife.

Netshiunda says the suspects, aged between 22 and 70, are believed to be members of a forum in the community.

They will appear in the Ntuzuma Magistrate’s Court on Monday, he adds.
