5th body retrieved near Hennops River in Centurion

Police have confirmed a fifth body was found near the Hennops River during a search for three missing police officers.

A fifth body has been discovered near the Hennops River in Centurion, with police confirming the find as part of their ongoing investigation into the disappearance of three police officers.

Pretoria Rekord reports that national police spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe confirmed that a fifth body was found this afternoon.

Authorities remain on the scene alongside family members, as details around the fourth and fifth bodies remain unclear, and police have yet to confirm whether three of the recovered bodies are those of the missing officers.

The three police constables, 30-year-old Keamogetswe Buys, 20-year-old Boipelo Senoge and 24-year-old Cebekhulu Linda, disappeared last Wednesday while travelling from Bloemfontein to their deployment area in Limpopo. National media have reported that the debris from a Volkswagen was found in the river.

National police commissioner General Fannie Masemola previously announced a R350 000 reward for information that could lead to the missing police officers being found.
