6 suspects killed in Mtubatuba shootout

Six men were shot dead in Mtubatuba, KwaZulu-Natal on Friday (yesterday) during an intense shootout with the police.
Last week, the POP Provincial Tracing Team, CI covert and Special Task Force received information that a group of suspects were planning to commit a cash in transit robbery in Empangeni on Friday.
The criminal’s plans were aborted after the CIT vehicle did not arrive.

A shoot out between police and the suspects ensued.
Six suspects were fatally wounded, while the police sustained no injuries.
