Alberton woman raped, stabbed in her home

Investigations are ongoing after a woman was allegedly been raped and stabbed in Alberton, on the East Rand, on Tuesday.

It is alleged a man broke into a house on Humphreys Street before raping and stabbing the woman and fled into the veld, the Alberton Record reports.

According to Elowayne Gouws, from Fox Security’s medical unit, they were awaiting backup to search for the suspect.

It is not yet known how serious the victim’s wounds are, but Gouws says the stabbing was not fatal.

This follows a spate of serious crime plaguing Alberton recently.
