ANC determined to conclude conference business in time
The party spokesperson said the programme of the conference is fully on track.

Although they are racing against time to get things done, outgoing national spokesperson Pule Mabe said the conference is back on track and all the reports from closed sessions three and four were placed before the delegates this afternoon.
Mabe said during a media briefing just after 18:30 that the delegates have adjourned for dinner and when they return the credential report will be presented for adoption.

“There will be nominations for positions of national officials, which are the president, deputy president, national chair, secretary general, deputy secretary general and treasurer general.
“Once the nominations are read out they will be nominated from the floor. Each nomination needs to gather 25% of the votes to be included on the ballot paper.
“Again, if the position didn’t exist, it will be called from the floor and ultimately included in the ballot paper. All these need to happen tonight although we are racing against time.
“We will do everything possible so that come Monday we’ll have done what we were supposed to do. The programme of the conference is fully on track,” he said.
