ANC Musa Dladla Regional Secretary Nathi “Madanga” Xulu has refuted widely-circulated social media claims that the region walked out of the Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) conference during President Cyril Ramaphosa’s closing speech.

The conference was held at the Olive Convention Centre in Durban and it was initially reported that Ramaphosa would not officially close the 9th KZN PEC due to other commitments.

However, later in the day, Ramaphosa arrived at the centre to deliver his closing speech of the conference.

“The truth is, we did go out. It must be known that the president arrived while the process of voting for the provincial executive had commenced. We are called by regions and we were the second to go and vote,” says Xulu.

“We went out and came back. Whoever was sharing those pictures should have also shared the other picture where we had returned to listen to the president.

“We lead very disciplined members of the branch in Musa Dladla region,” he says.

Xulu congratulates the newly elected top five PEC members, stating they have a huge task ahead of them, especially to prepare for the 2024 general elections.

“We trust them to unite the ANC in the province and ensure government delivers services to the people of this province,” says Xulu.
