Another frog found ‘alive’ in Woolies salad

Just over two weeks after a Woolworths customer reportedly found a dead frog in his salad, the retailer has been hit with another claim of critters packaged in their food.

The disgruntled customer shared a picture on Twitter yesterday of a salad purchased at Woolworths, City Buzz reported.

According to the customer, the frog was still alive.

Woolworths later contacted the customer, but has not yet made a public statement.

@WOOLWORTHS_SA: “@misterbigsays So sorry to see this Gabrielle. Please advise if we may contact you via email to follow up? Thank you.”

The retailer had previously said that it holds itself to high standards of quality and that healthy farms naturally attract a number of insects and other wildlife.

“We have to prepare our meals carefully because we believe good food starts with a healthy farm. For this reason, it is very unusual to find an insect or frog in one of our products,” Woolworths added.

Meanwhile, the Twitterverse responded with its usual quips, while others expressed their disgust.

Last month, Dirk Steenekamp posted a picture on the social network  of the dead frog he found in the salad he bought from Woolworths.

This incident was followed by a similar claims by customers who reportedly found various bugs and other critters in food purchased from Woolworths.
