Two provincial Road Traffic Inspectorate officers have been injured while carrying out duties on different parts of the highway.

A Road Traffic Inspectorate (RTI) officer was injured while carrying out pre-warning duties at an accident scene on the N3 yesterday morning.

Midlands EMS crews responded to the truck crash on the N3 southbound at Tweedie, outside Pietermaritzburg, when a vehicle collided with a RTI vehicle.

Earlier this month another RTI officer, Ntombenhle Madlala (50), was injured after a truck rammed into her car while she was tending to a truck breakdown on the N3 between Mkondeni and Ashburton in KZN.
