Benoni businessman missing – burnt vehicle found

He was last seen on July 20 when he left home and his Land Rover was found in Kempton Park.

Benoni police and CPF are seeking help from the public for information about the disappearance of a businessman, John Hamilton George Banks (62).

Banks reportedly left his Benoni Small Farms home at 07:00 on Thursday.

“It is not clear where he was headed, however, his Land Rover (DX 38 XW GP) was later found burnt out in Kempton Park,” says Sunine Strydom, of the Benoni CPF Sector 2.

“There has been no contact with Banks since his departure and a missing persons case is currently under investigation.”

Banks is about 1.9m tall with blue eyes and a bald head.

Strydom adds that the location where Banks’ vehicle was found cannot be made public as it is still regarded as a possible active crime scene.

Anyone with information that could assist in the investigation is urged to contact Strydom on 076 451 0080 or any of the alternative numbers provided on the missing persons flyer below.
