Bodies of 2 men found in eMbalenhle

Police suspect the men whose bodies were found in Extension 25 were murdered elsewhere and their bodies dumped there.

The bodies of two men were found in the veld near a cattle kraal in Extension 25, eMbalenhle, this morning.

Ridge Times reports the cause of death is currently still unknown, although there are allegations that the men were murdered somewhere else and their bodies dumped in Ext 25.

Police and all the relevant role players were on the scene earlier today.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, information is sought after a man’s body was found floating in a dam near Mountain City squatter camp in De Deur.

According to Sedibeng Sterthe discovery was made on Tuesday by a passer-by who immediately alerted the police.

Police spokesperson Constable Mampho Mahlomola states that when officers arrived at the scene, they found the lifeless body of an African male who had been stripped naked and bore multiple injuries.

De Deur SAPS station commander Lieutenant Colonel Anver Hammond condemns the incident, stating that inhumane acts like this would not be tolerated.

“As the SAPS, we do not condone such behaviour.”

Police are urging community members with information about the incident to assist in bringing the perpetrators to justice.

“We appeal to anyone with information to contact the police on 08600 10111 or use the MySAPS app, available on any smartphone. All information will be treated with the strictest confidentiality.”
