Boks get Kiwi ref for quarter-final
The Springboks will have a familiar face in charge of their play-off match against the hosts, having reffed one of their pool matches.
New Zealand referee Ben O’Keeffe will take charge of the quarter-final between the Springboks and France in Paris, as World Rugby confirmed the match officials for this weekend’s play-offs.
World Rugby earlier today announced the four match official teams that will handle the matches on Saturday and Sunday.
O’Keeffe will lead an all-New Zealand team for the fourth quarter-final between South Africa and tournament hosts France on Sunday, with Paul Williams and James Doleman as assistants. The TMO is Brendon Pickerill.
It will be a first World Cup play-off for O’Keeffe, who also handled the Springboks’ pool stage match against Ireland.
