The traffic on the N3 is caused by the Cosatu strike where members are calling for salary increases for all 1.3 million government employees.
A truck transporting pigs has been stuck on the N3 due to traffic on the Durban bound between Paradise Valley and Pavilion.

The traffic is due to the Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu) strike.
Cosatu leaders are calling for salary increases for all 1.3 million government employees and for investigations into Covid-19 tender corruption.
A concerned Pinetown resident, Andreas Mathios said about 100 if not more pigs are suffering due to the heat.
Mathios said the traffic is moving very slowly.
He added that the Kloof and Highway SPCA were aware of the matter and are trying to get to the scene.

At about 11.40am, Mathios said the truck was approaching Dawncliffe overpass.
Reports also came in of the N3 Hammarsdale off-ramp being closed due to the protesting.
Other reports said the N3, in both directions in Camperdown, also appear to be jammed.
