The Kemps were killed after their aircraft crashed near Mookgophong in the Waterberg district next to one of the game lodges on Friday, Polokwane Review reports.

In a statement, Police spokesperson, Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe, said the pilot and his wife died when their light aircraft crashed into the hill next to the said lodge.

“It is alleged the couple, Johannes Kemp (77) and his wife Angelina Kemp (66) from Volkrus, Ermelo in the Mpumalanga Province, were visiting their son at the said game lodge when the accident happened.”

The South African Police Service Search and Rescue Team visited the scene of the crash.
The Civil Aviation Authority will investigate the cause of the crash, Ngoepe concluded.
