Couple murdered in Mpophomeni

Police are investigating a double murder after a couple was found dead in their car in Mpophomeni.

Colonel Thembeka Mbele, spokesperson for the KZN Media Centre, said the bodies of the man and woman, who were aged 35 and 36 years old, were discovered at around 7.30am on January 29.

“They sustained gunshot wounds to the upper body and they were declared dead at the scene,” she added.

“It was reported that gunshots were heard the previous night but the bodies were found in the morning.

“The motive for the killing is unknown at this stage. The matter is still under investigation.”
