Covid-19: SA death toll nears 19 000
An additional 20 826 tests have been conducted.

South Africa reported a further 53 Covid-19 related deaths for October 24 bringing the total number of deaths to 18 944.
The Covid-19 statistics, released by the Department of Health, shows that the recovery rate remains steady at 90 per cent (644 641).

An additional 20 826 tests were conducted bringing the total number of tests to 4 677 942.
Gauteng remains the hot spot with 31.8 per cent of cases followed by KwaZulu-Natal with 17.1 per cent.
Both provinces have the highest number of recoveries.
Gauteng recorded 206 004 recoveries followed by KwaZulu-Natal with 112 459 recoveries.
