Decomposed body found near Wonderboom Airport

A decomposed body has been found in Sinoville, near the Wonderboom Airport in Pretoria.

Advanced Paramedic Assist spokesperson Werner van Rooyen said they received a call at about 9.07pm last night after the body was discovered by a passerby, Rekord North reported.

“We were called out, and upon further investigation, we realised that the patient had been dead for a while. The body was badly decomposed,” he said.

Van Rooyen said it remained unclear whether it was the body of a man or a woman.

Investigations are ongoing.

This after a decomposed body was found in a ditch in Gcilima, near Southbroom, in KwaZulu-Natal in January this year.

The identity of the body was confirmed by police spokesperson Captain Gerald Mfeka, who said Hendrik Havenga, 53, had died from a gunshot wound to the head.

Havenga had been reported missing on January 20, added Mfeka.

Police were investigating a case of murder.
