A man and woman allegedly claimed an undue refund from the revenue service to the amount of R996 236.97 in 2015.

A 39-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman are expected to appear in the Witbank Magistrate’s Court today to face charges of fraud.
They were remanded in custody following their appearance last week.
The pair, both directors of a business, face allegations of submitting false documents to the South African Revenue Service (SARS) in an attempt to claim an undue refund.
The alleged fraudulent activity is said to have transpired on January 20, 2015.
“It is alleged that the two unlawfully and intentionally submitted false documents to SARS, claiming undue refund amounting to R996 236.97,” explained Mpumalanga SAPS spokesperson Captain Dineo Sekgotodi.
The legal proceedings are scheduled to continue, with the case set for a formal bail application today.
