Doctor shot dead in Mbombela
Police have urged the public to come forward with information regarding the shooting of a doctor in what appears to be an assassination.
A 34-year-old doctor was fatally shot in the parking lot at Virgin Active in Riverside, Mbombela, by unknown assailants today.
According to provincial police spokesperson Captain Magonseni Nkosi, at about 06:00, the victim parked her car and got out.
“As she was walking towards the gym, a Toyota Starlet drove towards her.
“One of the suspects got out of the vehicle and shot the woman three times before they fled the scene. Nothing was stolen from her.”
ER24 paramedics declared the woman dead on the scene.
