Domestic worker murdered: Nurse appears in Lenasia court
A 21-year-old woman was murdered, allegedly for life insurance payouts worth R6m reportedly taken out by her employer.
A nurse, who allegedly killed her domestic worker in Lenasia South, appeared in the Lenasia Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
Sithembile Xulu is alleged to have insured the deceased with the aim of claiming insurance payouts from three life insurances amounting to R6m.
The body of the deceased, a 21-year-old, was found in an open field in Lenasia South. The victim’s throat had been slit.
During court proceedings, it was stated that there was a high possibility of a murder charge being levelled against Xulu.
It was also mentioned that a second suspect was arrested hours before the court proceedings. A third suspect, who is said to be a relative of Xulu, was apprehended immediately after the court adjourned.
The matter was postponed to Tuesday.
