About eight suspects attempt to rob jewellers in Clearwater Mall

A shootout incident allegedly ensued earlier at a prominent jewellery store in Clearwater Mall when a group of suspects attempted to commit a robbery, reports the Roodepoort Northsider.

It has been reported that about eight suspects attempted to ransack the Rob Browns Jewellery shop. However, a panic button was activated which set of the smoke dectectors on the floor.

It was also reported that the suspects fled on foot and no injuries were reported.

Police and various security companies were called to the scene. The matter is now being investigated by police.
