Ekurhuleni metro official’s murder: Accused awaits possible case transfer to high court
Thabani Goodwill Ntshalintshali’s case has been postponed to January 30 as investigations continue into the murder of Ekurhuleni official Mpho Mafole.
Thabani Goodwill Ntshalintshali appeared briefly in the Kempton Park Regional Court today, where his matter was once again postponed, this time to January 30, for further investigation.
Kempton Express reports that Ntshalintshali is accused of the murder of Ekurhuleni’s group divisional head for corporate and forensic audits, Mpho Mafole, who was killed in Kempton Park on June 30.
During his previous appearance on November 14, Ntshalintshali’s bail application was denied after the state argued he was likely to reoffend and had changed his address while on bail in a separate murder matter.
The defence countered that he had no previous convictions and claimed he had reported the change of address to the investigating officer.
With bail denied, Ntshalintshali remains in custody.
The court is awaiting confirmation on whether the case will proceed in the Kempton Park Regional Court or be transferred to the high court.
