Elderly Soweto man found mutilated after visit to local tavern

The shocking discovery of Clement Radebe’s body in Emdeni leaves family and residents searching for answers as police investigate.

The residents of Emdeni, Soweto, were left in shock after discovering the mutilated body of 61-year-old Clement Radebe earlier today.

According to information received, the deceased left home last night to have drinks at a local tavern he frequently visited.

His unresponsive body was found on the premises of the unnamed tavern.

The older sister of the deceased, Miriam Teme, told Soweto Urban that she heard about her brother’s death at around 06:30, when her niece woke her up to help identify the body.

“After hearing about Clement’s tragic fate, my younger brother and I rushed to the crime scene. What I saw there will haunt me forever. Clement’s lifeless body lay before me, his eyes removed.

“The sight was so distressing that I couldn’t bear to look at him twice. Even now, I’m struggling to come to terms with what happened.”

Teme said that her brother was harmless and never got into a fight or caused any trouble, so she doesn’t understand who could ‘do such cruel things to him’.

Soweto Urban contacted Naledi SAPS for a comment, but no more information was available at the time of publishing.
