End of the road: Greyhound buses shut down operations after 37 years
All passengers who have tickets booked for services after 14 February will be refunded in full.
Luxury bus services company, Greyhound, announced that it would be shutting down its operations in South Africa after more than 37 years on the road.
“As of 14 February 2021, Greyhound and Citiliner will be closing operations. Our services will be running up until 14 February 2021,” read the company’s statement.
They announced that all passengers who have tickets booked for services after the 14th will be refunded in full.
Greyhound has not yet divulged more information behind their closure.
“It has been our pleasure connecting you across Southern Africa for the past 37 years. Thank you to all our passengers for your continued support.”
Earlier this year, cross-border and inter-provincial bus owners held a protest in Durban against the government’s regulations to ban international and inter-provincial travelling as a way to mitigate the rising numbers of Covid-19 cases.
