Eskom announces load-shedding relief for the weekend

The power utility says its forecast allows rolling power cuts to be suspended from tomorrow.

Some good Friday news coming from the country’s power supplier – Eskom – as the utility states that rolling power cuts will be halted from tomorrow morning until Monday.

Spokesperson Daphne Mokwena says stage 2 power cuts will come into effect at 16:00 and continue until 05:00 tomorrow.

However, ‘due to the anticipated lower weekend electricity demand and adequate emergency reserves’, load-shedding will then be suspended until 16:00 on Monday.

“An update on the outlook of the next week will be announced on Sunday. Eskom will communicate should any significant changes occur,” she concludes.
