Eskom to implement stage 5 load-shedding from tomorrow

The power utility says high stages of power cuts can be expected for the rest of the week.

Daily stage 3 and 4 power cuts will come to an end from 05:00 tomorrow as Eskom has decided to escalate load-shedding to stage 5.

Eskom says the increase of stages is due to generating units breaking down at the Camden, Kendal, Lethabo and Majuba power stations in the last 24 hours.

As a result, stage 5 load-shedding will start at 05:00 tomorrow and continue until 05:00 on Saturday. Thereafter stage 4 power cuts will be in effect between 05:00 and 16:00.

Stage 5 load-shedding will once again be implemented from 16:00 on Saturday until 05:00 on Sunday, followed by stage 4 power cuts between 05:00 and 16:00.

The power utility adds that stage 5 load-shedding will also be implemented from 16:00 on Sunday.
