Family attacked on Mpumalanga farm

Armed robbers made off with cash, guns and ammunition after attacking a family on a farm.

Police are searching for four armed robbers who attacked a family on their farm in Schoemanskloof, Mpumalanga, yesterday.

According to Mpumalanga police spokesperson Captain Magonseni Nkosi, the robbers stormed the farm and held up two family members who were outside the farmhouse. They then forced them inside.

“When they were inside, they assaulted them and demanded money and a key to the safe. They then robbed them of an undisclosed amount of cash, four guns, ammunition, and some household items. They fled the scene in one of the victims’ vehicles,” he says.

Nkosi says police and other law enforcement agencies were alerted.

The suspects were cornered by the police on Kaapsehoop road but abandoned the car and escaped with the stolen property.

Minor injuries were reported during the incident.
