Father and son shot dead in separate incidents in Johannesburg South
In two separate incidents, 10 days apart, a father and son were shot and killed while seated inside their cars.
Police are investigating two murders where first a son and then his father were gunned down.
On March 2, Booysens SAPS attended a crime scene in Bellavista where a victim was killed in what was believed to be an attempted hijacking.
The victim was shot and declared dead on the scene by paramedics. Booysens SAPS are still on the hunt for suspects.
This morning, March 12, police were called to a scene where a man was shot and killed on the corner of Joachim and Reeders Street in Haddon at around 08:30.
Police found the male victim lying unresponsive inside a red VW Polo. On further inspection 12 spent cartridges were found on the scene.
Booysens SAPS communications officer, Captain Lorraine van Emmerik, said that the person killed on March 2 and this morning’s victim are related. She identified them as a father and son with the father being the most recent victim.
The details around these shootings are still not clear but law enforcers were on scene for investigation.

• In another incident, Mondeor SAPS are investigating a case of murder after a man was shot six times and killed in Bassonia on Friday evening.
According to Mike Fontes, chairman of Glenvista Community Policing Forum, the incident took place in the garage of his home in a complex on Soetdoring Street just before midnight.
