Firefighters dispatched across Southern Cape to contain flare-ups

The teams have been focusing on containing flare-ups in Simola, Buffel's Bay, and Groenvlei.

Fires that broke out in the Knysna area on Thursday afternoon were brought under control, reports the Knysna-Plett Herald.

These fires did not pose any danger to life nor property as they were mainly burning in the already burnt out black areas.

As of Friday morning, 80 firefighters from Working on Fire were dispatched across the Southern Cape.

The teams have been focusing on containing flare-ups in Simola, Buffel’s Bay, and Groenvlei.

Firefighting teams, including those from the Southern Cape Fire Protection Association, Eden District Municipality and Knysna Municipality Fire and Rescue services, remain on alert.
