Five new faces in Lions squad

The Central Gauteng Lions have announced their squad for the upcoming season and some new additions have been made.

Proteas and former Western Province batsman Zubayr Hamza is one of five new players in the Central Gauteng Lions squad for the 2023/24 season.

The 27-year-old has earned six test caps and made one ODI appearance for South Africa.

The other new faces in the Lions squad are leg-spinner Junaid Dawood (WP), orthodox spin bowler Tsepo Ndwandwa (EP Warriors), pace bowler Tshepo Moreki (WP) and all-rounder Delano Potgieter (North West Dragons). Potgieter has previously played for the Lions.

Bjorn Fortuin, Sisanda Magala and Ryan Rickelton have joined Temba Bavuma, Rassie van der Dussen, Reeza Hendricks and Kagiso Rabada as Proteas-contracted players.
