Footage shows missing Hendrina mother ‘taking off willingly’
Investigators appealed to the woman or anyone that knows her whereabouts to reach out to them and confirm that mother and child are safe.
The young mother who disappeared with her four-year-old son in Hendrina, Mpumlanga yesterday has likely taken off at her own will after eyewitness reports and surveillance footage was obtained by investigators.
Morney Vos from Specialised Security Services has just confirmed with the Middelburg Observer that Luschka Taljaard (27) has allegedly not gone missing but chose to disappear with her son Daniel.
A large-scale search operation was launched, including police, security companies as well as community members as far as Johannesburg. The search continued through the night and the most of today.
Vos explains that the footage at their disposal clearly shows how Luschka abandoned the VW Polo that was found outside the Kwazamokuhle township next to the Arnot Road outside Hendrina, before climbing into a silver double cab bakkie with her son and another driver.
“All of our teams are out in full force trying to locate Luschka,” Vos says.
He is urging Luschka or anyone who is aware of her whereabouts to contact himself or Mike Bolhuis to confirm her and Daniel’s safety.
“We will handle all information confidentially and won’t disclose their whereabouts as long as we can confirm that Luschka and Daniel are safe.”
Vos can be contacted on 066 212 5193 or alternatively Mike Bolhuis can be contacted on 082 447 6116.
