Forbes ranks Sasol among top global employers for 2025

Sasol joins eight other South African companies recognised by Forbes among the world’s best employers for the year.

Sasol is among nine South African businesses that have been named among Forbes’ 2025 World’s Best Employers.

According to Sedibeng Ster, the company, with plants in Sasolburg and Secunda, is in sixth place on the list in South Africa and holds the 374th spot globally.

Topping Africa’s list is Standard Bank Group, ranked 28th worldwide, securing its fourth consecutive appearance on Forbes’ prestigious annual ranking.

Compiled in partnership with research firm Statista, the ranking surveyed more than 300 000 employees across over 50 countries. BusinessTech reports that respondents rated their employers on compensation, career advancement, work-life balance and overall corporate reputation.

Most of the African companies on the list hail from South Africa, with Nedbank (49th), Absa (97th), MTN (166th), and Sappi (289th) also earning global recognition.

Others include Mediclinic and Adcorp, spanning sectors from finance to healthcare and telecommunications.
