Former police officer among suspects arrested for Ermelo cop’s murder

The suspects arrested in connection with the murder of a police officer are due to appear in court today.

Five suspects, including a former police official, are expected to appear in the Ermelo Magistrate’s Court today in connection with the murder of Lieutenant Colonel Piet Pretorius.

According to an article published by Highvelder, four men and a woman, aged between 29 and 40, were arrested within 12 hours of the fatal shooting of Pretorius, the commander of the Ermelo Vehicle Investigation Unit, last Thursday.

A petition urging the Ermelo Magistrate’s Court to deny bail is circulating within the Ermelo community.
