Four arrested for highway looting on N2 near Mtubatuba

They are being detained at the KwaMsane police station pending further investigation and more arrests are imminent.

KWAMSANE police arrested four suspects for possession of suspected stolen goods on Wednesday morning.

During the arrest bags of rice and a water tank which were looted from a truck on the N2, were recovered.

The Mfekayi community held a gathering along the N2 road and during their meeting, they stopped a truck carrying the rice and water tank and looted it.

‘When our members received a report of the theft, the KwaMsane task team immediately responded and investigated,’ said police spokesperson, Captain Jabulani Mdletshe.

‘The stolen goods were found at one of the suspect’s home and four men aged between 25 and 45 were arrested.
