Gauteng Covid-19 cases climb to 7 195

The department said out of 17 307 contacts traced (individuals who were in contact with a person tested positive for Covid-19), 12 044  people have completed the 14 days monitoring period with no symptoms reported and were de-isolated.

The department said 474 people were currently hospitalised in the public and private facility.

The department confirmed the number of deaths remained at 57 deaths and no new deaths were recorded.

• Johannesburg: 3 546 cases and 1 558 recoveries
• Ekurhuleni: 1 384 cases and 660  recoveries
• Tshwane: 960  cases and 376 recoveries
• Sedibeng: 162  cases and 56  recoveries
• West Rand: 627  cases and 240 recoveries
