Gauteng Covid-19 cases climb to 7 953

The department said out of 17 712 contacts traced (individuals who were in contact with a person tested positive for Covid-19), 12 192 people have completed the 14 days monitoring period with no symptoms reported and were de-isolated.

The department said 493 people were currently hospitalised in the public and private facility.

The department confirmed the number of deaths remained at 57 deaths and no new deaths were recorded.

– Johannesburg: 3 906 cases and 1 564 recoveries
– Ekurhuleni: 1 525 cases and 698 recoveries
– Tshwane: 1 071 cases and 388 recoveries
– Sedibeng: 183 cases and 58 recoveries
– West Rand: 681 cases and 240 recoveries
