Officers who responded to the scene in Klopperpark, as well as a family friend, were reportedly shot at by a 38-year-old man.

A man (38) was arrested after he allegedly shot and injured three police officers, after they responded to a hostage situation in Germiston yesterday morning.

Gauteng police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo says officers received a complaint at about 07:00 about a woman and children who were held hostage by her husband in Klopperpark.

The SAPS says that when officers arrived at the house, the suspect fired shots at them. It is also alleged that he shot a family friend, who was inside the house.
