Graphic content warning: Human remains discovered near Mpumalanga river

Police are urging members of the public to come forward to assist in their investigation after a herder stumbled on human remains.

The Elukwatini police are investigating an inquest case after human remains were discovered near a river by a herder in Tjakastad in Mpumalanga on Tuesday afternoon.

An article published by Lowvelder says that according to Mpumalanga police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Jabu Ndubane, a human skull and a detached torso were retrieved. Only the right arm was present, but the hand was missing. The left arm and both legs were not found.

“The police are urging members of the community to assist with any information that could help identify the remains or provide insight into what may have occurred.

“Anyone who has a missing family member is encouraged to report this to the nearest police station immediately,” Ndubane says.
